The case information displayed on OCIS 2.0 is case information entered by the respective court clerks into the respective case management systems (CMS). The Office of the Executive Secretary (OES) of the Supreme Court of Virginia is the administrative office for Virginia's Judicial System and provides the technology support to operate CMS.

The circuit court is the trial court with the broadest powers in Virginia. The circuit court handles all civil cases with claims of more than $25,000. It shares authority with the general district court to hear matters involving claims between $4,500 and $25,000. The circuit court has the authority to hear serious criminal cases called felonies.

Virginia Court Records Lookup - VA Court Case Search

All preliminary hearings for felony cases are also heard here, with the court deciding whether or not to pass it on to the grand jury.
